As we were sitting on our balcony watching sea turtles swim one morning, we decided that it would be awesome to swim with sharks! Oahu's north shore is a great place to see them so we called and made a reservation with North Shore Shark Adventures. The only time available was 6:00am which meant that we needed to leave our hotel by 4:30 to get to the other side of the island but we decided to go for it!
This was our view for the ride out! We went 3 miles offshore and then went into the water inside this cage...
Amber and I are ready to be shark bait...ooh ha ha
Here's our view of the coast from our diving site!
We were able to see a beautiful sunrise on the ride out!
Our snorkeling gear was awesome!
Climbing into the cage!!
Once we got in the cage, they unhooked the cage from the boat and let it drift out about 20 yards so that we could see the sharks from all directions!
We saw about 5 Galapagos sharks and 1 reef shark. Kimberly and Val had the underwater cameras to take great pictures of the sharks swimming around the cage. Here's one that Kimberly took:
I was struggling to stay underwater because I kept floating to the top....that's why my big arm is taking up so much of the picture.
We were in the cage for about 20 minutes and it was so great!!
Here we are getting out of the cage!
After we got out of the cage, we were able to hang out on the boat and wait while the next group went out in the cage. I was able to get some great pictures of sharks from above the water!
This was a big one!
After all 3 groups had a chance to swim with the sharks, we headed back in for our next adventure....skydiving!!!
Here's the next boat of shark swimmers going out....they don't waste any time!
